We would LOVE to celebrate with you! Contact us for travel estimates and to check availability (let us know if you have a backup date). We typically book 2-3 months in advance. Our princesses travel all over to bring magic to your doorstep. Travel fees vary according to distance from our homebase location in Wilmington. A nonrefundable $50 reservation fee is required in order to complete your booking. All appearances scheduled within 72 hours of the event must pay in full at the time of booking. Payments can be made easily and securely online. We are not able to perform outside and require an indoor, air conditioned space for our visits. Call for more details!

How far in advance should I book a character for my birthday party?

We typically book 2-3 months in advance, but you are welcome to book 12 months prior to your event. Contact us as early as possible so we can make sure your preferred princess is available.
Does quality really matter? Do kids notice the difference?

ABSOLUTELY! Kids notice EVERYTHING! Our attention to detail builds believability. It is truly magical to witness a child meeting their favorite princess. We are constantly working behind the scenes to upgrade every aspect of our character entertainment business to provide our clients with the highest quality. Our gowns, wigs, and party supplies are unique to us. We work with designers around the world to bring these characters to life. Over the last decade we have been perfecting our craft (yep, before the Frozen craze) to make it an easy choice. After thousands of events you can trust your celebration is in the best hands.
What types of events do you do?

We love attending all types of family friendly celebrations! Birthday parties are our specialty, but we also attend all kinds of corporate events, private playdates, family nights, character dining, storytime, family fun days, weddings, gender reveals, anniversary parties, holiday celebrations, grand openings, fundraisers, vacation surprises, small business partnerships, trivia nights, ticketed events, and more! If you can dream it we can probably do it. Contact us for a custom package.
What ages do you recommend for kid's birthday parties?

Character entertainment can be magical for any age! Most of our birthday party visits are geared towards ages 3-6. You know your child best so keep that in mind. We attend 1 year old birthday parties all the way up to 90 year old birthday celebrations.
Where are you based and do you travel to my city?

Fairytales and Dreams by the Sea is based in Wilmington, North Carolina. Since 2013 our fairytale characters have been traveling all over southeastern NC to create magic. Travel fees apply to distances over 30 minutes from our headquarters. Send us a message on the "contact" page for a travel quote and to check availability. Some of our favorite places for birthday party and corporate visits are Leland, Ogden, Hampstead, Wrightsville Beach, Kure Beach, Carolina Beach, Topsail Beach, Rocky Point, Myrtle Beach, Jacksonville, Swansboro, Southport, Shallotte, Oak Island, Fort Fisher, Bolivia, Sneads Ferry, and Lake Waccamaw (just to name a few).
Can I invite boys to the party?

Of course! Our visits are a hit with all genders. The majority of our visits have both boys and girls in attendance. Everyone gets excited to see the princesses! Let us know if you prefer to switch out any activities, such as makeovers for temporary tattoos instead.
What is the cost to book?

A non-refundable $50 reservation fee is required to book your birthday party or meet and greet event. Prices listed on the "packages" page of our website include the cost of the reservation fee.
Are you insured?

Yes! Fairytales and Dreams by the Sea has insurance for all of their performances.
Do we book corporate events or only birthday parties?

We do both! Any family-friendly celebration with an appropriate venue can request our character entertainment. Pricing is different for "meet and greet" packages versus birthday parties. Contact us for more information.
Do you offer superheroes or characters not listed on your website?

At this time all of our available characters are listed on our website under the "characters" tab. We are always adding new fairytale friends and would love your suggestions for who we should add next. If notified far enough in advance we may be able to add your requested character for an additional fee.
